Founder Sachiko Nakagawa

After working at a private kindergarten in Osaka, Sachiko moved to Australia and worked as childcare provider and Japanese language teacher, where she cultivated a deep interest in education for children. After returning to Japan, Sachiko worked in overseas sales at a trading company. Later, Sachiko moved to Germany and was involved in childcare for infants at the Adlerian International Preschool and the NGO German International Peace Village, where she witnessed the children’s lively eyes while she interacted with diverse children from all over the world. After returning to Japan, while working in recruitment mainly for foreign companies in Japan, Sachiko felt the importance of early childhood education and its effect on a diverse workforce that is able to think independently and to adapt to globalization and the changing workforce. In order to provide children in Japan with diverse educational opportunities, Sachiko decided to open Pikkas International Preschool. Sachiko is also a mother of a daughter juggling her career with the joys and challenges of parenthood.
