School life

A great amount of attention has been given to each and every detail. The interior design, school lunch, and uniforms were carefully researched and hand selected. There are many skills we want our children to acquire for their future. We place emphasis on proficiency in language and culture, as well as a variety of physical abilities. We will aim to provide them with many opportunities to develop their creativity, planning, decision-making skills, social skills, and broad perspectives, and to encourage their ability to think proactively.

Features

01

School Design

We prioritized designing a comfortable space for children, incorporating a floor plan that prioritizes safety, a dirt floor suitable for all-weather childcare, and the use of solid cedar planks. Given the significant amount of time children spend in such environments, we are dedicated to ensuring a floor plan that prioritizes safety. We offer a selective childcare approach in an environment that sparks children's curiosity and encourages free thinking by offering opportunities to experience onomatopoeia through the use of numerous pleasant natural materials.

02

Meals

At Pikkas, we place great importance on balanced meals and reducing the burden of food education at home. During early childhood, when children are most susceptible to the effects of additives and pesticides, we emphasize providing meals and snacks that are not only safe and healthy but also tasty and give parents peace of mind. Our lunches do not contain the seven major allergens, allowing many children to enjoy the same meals together. We understand that daily meal preparation can be burdensome for busy families, so we strive to alleviate that stress by providing healthy, balanced meals at Pikkas.

03

School Clothing

At Pikkas, we prioritize comfort as well as environmentally friendly uniforms for the children. We choose materials that allow the children to move easily and are easy to wash, even if they get muddy. We believe it’s essential to instill care for the planet and an awareness of sustainability from an early age. By incorporating these principles into everyday clothing choices, we provide opportunities for the children to seek out inspiration and expand their imagination for planetary health.

04

Activities

As parents, we want to enrich our children’s lives with many interests and experiences. However, finding time for extracurricular activities amidst our busy lives, and choosing lessons from among many can be very challenging too. At Pikkas, we propose extracurricular classes that can be attended casually during childcare hours as we hope each child finds something they love. (Paid options)

05

English environment

English proficiency requires over 3,000 hours of learning. At Pikkas, we maintain an all-English environment (excluding extracurricular classes and external instructors). Leveraging the language acquisition capabilities unique to early childhood, the children are immersed in a natural English environment, essential for genuine fluency. As children’s interests expand, we guide them toward foundational learning—such as reading, writing, and numeracy—within play activities.

06

Our Approach to Faculty and Staff

We are committed to bringing together a team of faculty and staff who wholeheartedly embrace Pikkas’s educational philosophy. Our team members bring rich experience, a passion for growth, a deep understanding of children's collective learning, and an appreciation for diversity.
